ABOUT US
In April of 2014, a group of Edwin Allen past students from the Baltimore and Washington DC area was attending the Edwin Allen High School Alumni Association Mid-Atlantic Chapter’s Spring Dinner Dance Gala. The conversation was started at the event about the possibility of starting a chapter in the Baltimore Washington area.
The conversation got louder and on June 2nd, 2014 a group of past students had a meet and greet in Washington DC. At that meet and greet a planning committee was formed and that’s where our journey started.
Under the leadership of the organization’s first President Garfield Reid and Collin Burrell the President of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter, Dr. Delroy Green, Michael Martin, Charles Cooper, Linval Brown, Sonia Mundle-Smith, Patrick Campbell, Ingrid Haynes and Oneil Cross, we had multiple meetings at Junction International Restaurant in Hyattsville that was owned and operated by past student Patrick Campbell. This restaurant was where the planning committee met over several months to write the organization’s constitution and bylaws.
The organization was incorporated in Maryland in March 2015 and in 2017 we received our 501 (c) (3) status. As a tax-exempt non-profit organization, all donations received are tax deductible to the donor.
OUR MISSION
The mission of the association is to promote, preserve and perpetuate the collegiate ties between past students themselves as well as the Edwin Allen High School in Frankfield, Clarendon Jamaica, and to provide assistance to the school, it’s students and faculty on a continual basis.
